PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress oxidation of ion exchange resins by circulating the water in a demineralization tower to the demineralization tower to bring it in contact with the ion exchange resins in the demineralization tower and then proceeding to a regeneration step when the ion exchange resins in the demineralization tower are regenerated after a steam condensate is introduced into the demineralization tower and demineralized. SOLUTION: In the demineralization tower 1 for the steam condensate where a mixed bed of an anion exchange resin and a cation exchange resin is formed in the inside, the steam condensate is introduced from a steam condenser to the tower 1 through a pipeline 11 and the demineralized condensate is returned to the steam condenser through a pipeline 12 by opening valves V1, V2 in the demineralization step. After the demineralization, the internal pressure of the tower 1 is released by closing the valves V1, V2 and opening a valve V3 when the ion exchange resins are regenerated. Since the steam condensate which is not demineralized remains in the upper parts of the ion exchange resin beds, the water in the tower 1 is circulated through pipelines 13-15 by opening valves V5, V9 and operating a pump P. After the water in the tower is circulated, the ion exchange resins are backwashed and transferred to a regeneration tower. |
