PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of drying a prepreg excellent in drying capacity even if tensile strength is low, showing no unusual gas concentration increase, and low in residual stress, and also provide a vertical drying furnace therefor and a manufacturing method of the prepreg using the method. SOLUTION: In this method of drying a prepreg, after a resin varnish is impregnated in a base material of continuous sheet, the base material is put in a vertical drying furnace and air is blown on both sides of the base material, while it is folded and pulled in almost perpendicular direction to its width. The vertical furnace has a heater 3 inside and has air nozzles to blow air on both sides of the base material. In the method of manufacturing a prepreg, a resin varnish is impregnated in the base material 6 of continuous sheet, and it is put in the vertical drying furnace and air is blown on both sides of the material to dry, while it is folded and pulled in almost perpendicular direction to its width.
