PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a non-gyrating crimped yarn exhibiting bulkiness sufficient for eliminating the defect of conventional crimped yarn and provide a process for producing such crimped yarn at a low cost. SOLUTION: The objective non-gyrating crimped yarn is a non-gyrating yarn composed of multifilament. Each filament has crimped structure having a crimping phase different from that of the adjacent filament and the stretch recovery of the yarn Y after the false cloth heat-treatment is >=5%. The crimped yarn can be produced by transporting a multifilament yarn having latent crimping property with a jet flow of a pressurized and heated compressible fluid, decreasing the speed of the fluid to be slower than the yarn speed to decelerate the yarn Y and develop the crimp by the relaxed heat-treatment.
