PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transparent cosmetic capable of solving the problems such as heaviness in extension at the time of coating, insufficiency of finish after the coating, reduction of transparency with the lapse of time, and insufficiency of moldability to a stick, and having extremely improved transparency and usability by including a specific fatty acid ester of dextrin. SOLUTION: This transparent cosmetic comprising (A) 12-hydroxystearic acid, and (B) an oily component contains (C) a fatty acid ester of dextrin of the formula A-(-O-CO-R)n (A is a residue obtained by removing n hydroxy groups from dextrin; R is a 3-30C alkyl; n is an integer of >=1), (preferably, one or more kinds selected from dextrin palmitate, dextrin 2-ethylhexanoate and dextrin myristate and/or palmitate). The component B preferably has 1.44-1.54 refractive index, and a liquid lanolin, a liquid paraffin or the like is preferably used as the component B.
