PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an immunoactivating compound having low toxicity wherein the compound activates immunity by promoting manifestation of a heat-shock protein concerning to activation of immunecompetence. SOLUTION: This agent is obtained by using extracts of Scutellaria baicalensis roots and Rauwolfia serpentina of herbal medicines as a device for immunoactivation of living body. The agent can increase stress protein production of cells of reserpine, baicalin, oroxylin A, wogonin or their derivatives, can activate heat-shock protein thereby and can sufficiently promote the immunoactivation of living body, nevertheless, decrease side effects for the living body. |
