<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase which was mutated by modifying a part of the amino acid sequence which constitutes a protein having a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity, has improved stability in a liquid compared with the original protein, and is useful as a reagent for clinical diagnosis and the like. SOLUTION: This is a new glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase which was mutated by modifying by adding, deleting, inserting, or substituting one or more amino acid(s) of the amino acid sequence which is shown by the formula and has a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity, has improved stability in a liquid compared with the original protein, has excellent stability during storage in a solution, and is useful as a reagent for clinical diagnosis and the like. This mutated enzyme is obtained by contacting a gene coding for a wild- type enzyme with a reagent which serves as a mutagen, incorporating the obtained gene into a vector to transform a host cell with the obtained vector, followed by culturing the obtained transformant.</p> |
