PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording an image with satisfactory color tones on a heat-sensitive recording material without the generation of smears in a thermal head. SOLUTION: The heat-sensitive recording material has constituent layers containing an organic silver salt, a silver ion reducing agent and a fluorosurfactant, these layers being one or more heat-sensitive recording layers and one or more non-heat sensitive recording layers formed on the same support face side as the heat sensitive recording layer. At least one of the heat-sensitive recording layers is formed by coating and drying a coating liquid, 30 wt.% or more solvent of which is water and a polymer whose equilibrium moisture content at 25 deg.C and 60% RH is 2 wt.% or less is a main binder. The non-heat sensitive recording layer located on the same support face side as the heat-sensitive recording layer is applied simultaneously in a superposed fashion to be formed. For recording in the recording material, a thermal head is used which is structured of at least one lower layer protecting film, for protecting a heating element, which is composed mainly of a ceramic and an upper layer protecting film, for protecting a heating element, which is composed mainly of carbon and formed on the lower layer protecting film. |
