PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing for blocking the turbulent flow in an ascending gas. SOLUTION: This packing 2 of a special structure is provided with corrugated sheets 62 and 64 and flat-sheet members 70 and 72 arranged alternately with the sheets 62 and 64 and between the sheets 62 and 64. The plural members 70 and 72 are positioned so that at least one uppermost horizontal edge 73 of the member made horizontal when used is brought close to the uppermost horizontal edges of the sheets 62 and 64. When the length of the members 70 and 72 is almost equal to that of the sheets 60 and 64, a perforation is furnished in the member and sheet. The pressure of the entire packing is kept equivalent by the perforation, and the size of the perforation is so controlled that the gas and liq. never flows crosswise. |
