PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive recording heads surely irrespective the number of the heads to be used, to prevent defective conveyance such as step-out in a conveyance driving means for a recording medium even when a recording speed is increased, and to implement a recording action surely. SOLUTION: Freely attachalble/detachable recording heads are provider in a printer main body, and discrimination means 102, 101 for discriminating the number of the recording heads to be used for recording and a control means 101 for controlling a recording speed corresponding to the number of the recording heads discriminated by the discrimination means 102, 101 are provided. The control means 101 reduces a recording speed with the increase of the number of the heads to stabilize the power consumption of all the recording heads. |
