PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fully secure the effective area of a tenant building without sacrificing comfortability and convenience. SOLUTION: In this base-isolated building whose entire above-ground part is supported by a base isolation device 1, a megastructure 5 comprising outer peripheral columns 2, a bottom beam 3 and a top beam 4 is constructed as the main frame of the entire above-ground part and the slab of each story is supported at its peripheral edge against the inside of the megastructure 5, with the megastructure 5 supported by the base isolation device 1 installed in a basement. Hanging columns 8 are provided for hanging and supporting the main part of the slab of each story from the top of the megastructure 5. The base isolation device 1 supporting the megastructure 5 is installed in the position of the capital part of the column 9 of the basement.
