PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp a work, such as a disc, by reliably applying a desired grasping force. SOLUTION: A grasping device is used to grasp a work W having a through- hole H formed in a central part and an axially reciprocating piston rod 18 is mounted on a device body 10. The base end part of an elastic cylinder body 28 is mounted on the device body 10, and the tip part of the elastic cylinder body 28 is attached to the tip part of the piston rod 18. When the piston rod 18 is moved backward, the elastic cylinder body 28 is curved and deformed radially externally in the through-hole H of the work W. The work W is grasped by the elastic cylinder body 28, and by moving forward the piston rod 18, the work W is released from grasping. This elastic cylinder body 28 is formed of an elastic material, such as rubber or a spring steel.
