PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly active catalyst capable of giving a polyolefin with high stereoregularity and flowability. SOLUTION: This olefin polymerization catalyst is composed of (A) a solid catalytic component essentially comprising magnesium, titanium, a halogen and an electron-donating compound, (B) an organoaluminum compound and (C) an alkylalkoxysilane of the formula R1R1'Si(OR2)(OR3) (R1 and R1' are each R4R5R6CCH2CH2; R2 and R3 are each a 1-4C aliphatic hydrocarbon group; R4 and R5 are each a 1-6C aliphatic hydrocarbon group; R6 is H or a 1-4C aliphatic hydrocarbon group; at least two of R4, R5 and R6 may form a ring).
