PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject cage capable of conducting therapies and/or studies continuously in the identical cage and also capable of conducting progress observations without transferring the relevant animal to another cage. SOLUTION: This cage is such that a relevant animal is not partly pressed forcedly and directly; conducts by such means as hand, a stick, string and a collar pre withheld, and the animal's evacuation action following his contact with a plane is utilized; using two planar lattices crossing with each other, the space defined by being surrounded by a lattice 12 movable back and forth, a lattice 13 movable vertically, an inner side cover plate, a floor plate 5, and front face lattice door 8 is controlled by a mechanism simultaneously conducting horizontal and vertical motions; wherein the control is made from the front face only; because the overall volume is invariant, the only requirement for setting up this cage is that there is a working space in front thereof; and since the internal volume of the working space is variable by control of the mechanism and the working space can also play a role as a cage, therapies, studies and progress observations can be done continuously.
