PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject dendrimer capable of efficiently synthesizing a high-molecular weight dendrimer-containing organic polymer excellent in transparency, water repellency, gas permeability, etc., by reacting a specific organosilicon compound as a starting substance with a specified organosiloxysilane, etc. SOLUTION: This dendrimer is represented by formula I [R1 is a 1-10C alkyl or the like; R2 is a bivalent organic group other than a 1-10C alkylene; b is 1-3; X1 is a silylalkyl represented by formula II (R3 is a 2-10C alkylene; R4 is a 1-10C alkyl; Xi+1 is H, a 1-10C alkyl or the like; i is 1-10; a1 is 0-3) when i is 1; Y is a group represented by formula III (R5 is H or methyl) or the like] and contains the radically polymerizable group. The dendrimer represented by formula I is obtained by carrying out an addition reaction of an organosilicon compound containing hydrogen atom bound to silicon atom or a carbosiloxysilane dendrimer containing hydrogen atom bound to silicon atom in the presence of a platinum-based transition metal catalyst.
