PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve assembling characteristics, cable withdrawing characteristics, etc., of a cable packing case. SOLUTION: A packing case 2 for a cable 1 has a substantially flat, rectangularly parallelepipedic shape as a whole, and comprises a bottom sheet 3, a rear sheet 4 and both side sheets 5, 5, each being raised from the bottom sheet 3 in a folded state, a lid sheet insertion portion 6 provided at the upper end of each of the rear sheet and both the side sheets, a detachable lid sheet 7 which is slidingly inserted into these lid sheet insertion portions from the front side of the case, and a detachable front sheet 9 for closing a front opening 8 and having front insertion portions 10, each being provided at the upper and lower ends of the front sheet 9, into which the lid sheet and a bottom sheet are slidingly inserted. Each sheet is formed of a corrugated board made of a plastic, and four corners of the case 2 are cut off to define openings.
