PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen-absorbing resin composition and a laminate, in which inherent functions as a resin base material can be exhibited before and after an oxygen absorption reaction and which can initiate the oxygen absorption reaction based on a sterilizing process as a trigger in the case where hot filling, retort sterilization or the like is performed. SOLUTION: This resin composition is composed of a resin base material (A) selected from among groups comprising an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, a nylon resin and an olefinic resin. An oxidizable polyer (B) having an oxygen absorption rate greater than that of the resin base material is compounded with the resin base material in a proportion of 1 to 100 pts.wt. of the oxidizable polymer per 100 pts.wt. of the resin base material, and an oxidizing catalyst or an oxidation initiator (C) is further compounded therewith in a ratio of 10 to 5000 ppm to the oxidizable polymer.
