Pharmaceutical compositions comprising a safe and effective amount of at lea st one pharmaceutical cold active; 3-1-menthoxy propane 1,2-diol; and a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier material suitabl e for oral or nasal administration. The present invention also includes methods for treating cough, cold, cold-like, allergy and/or flu symptoms in a human or lower animal, said method comprising administering to a human or lower animal in need of such treatment, by oral or nasal administration, a composition comprising 3-1-menthoxy propane 1,2-diol.
