PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a sheet that effectively maintains a function possessed by a porous inorganic material and has a sufficient strength by blending a fiber containing a specified amount of a porous inorganic material within a substantial portion of a cellulosic fiber and a fiber containing no porous inorganic material in a specified ratio into the sheet. SOLUTION: This sheet is the one containing a porous inorganic material wherein a fiber containing 40-80 wt.% porous inorganic material within a substantial portion of a cellulosic fiber and a fiber containing no porous inorganic material are blended in a ratio of 50:50-30:70. As a porous inorganic material, a crystalline zeolite, an amorphous silica gel, an aluminosilica gel or an alumina gel is preferable. For example, a cellulosic fiber that has been immersed in an aqueous solution of 1.0-100 mmol/l of a silicon compound for 10 min-2 hr is immersed in a mixed solution of 1.0-1,000 mmol/l of an aluminum compound and 10-5,000 mmol/l of a basic substance such as sodium hydroxide or the like at a temperature of 20-90 deg.C for 2 hr-20 day to thereby incorporate zeolite into the cellulosic fiber.
