PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost folder for housing a document or the like, in which the forming part of a filing means can be easily reinforced. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method for a synthetic resin folder for housing a document or the like, one side part of a tubular flattened main body part 11 is cut off longitudinally. An elongate portion 12, which is cut off from the main body part 11 by the above cutting-off and has a nearly U-shaped cross-section, is covered on one side part of the main body part 11. An infinite number of spot-welded parts 13 are formed along the one side part of the main body part 11 in the potion covered with the portion 12 in continuous form on the one side part of the main body part 11. Between the opposing side sides normal to the longitudinal direction of the tubularly formed main body part 11, one side is left as it is in open state and the other side is closed by thermally welding two sheet parts together. At the same time, filing means 16 attachable to and detachable from the hooking member of a file are formed at proper intervals along the one side part within the range of the spot-welded part 13.
