PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check qualities of total number under a non-destructive condition by judging good/bad of a welding condition in a resistance welding portion at high accuracy. SOLUTION: In this welding device wherein resistance welding is performed while a core wire of a cable is nipped between an electrode chip 32A arranged at the upper part of holding blocks 42, 43 and an electrode chip 32B arranged at the lower part of a clearance D, a thermocouple 11 abutting the electrode chip 32B is arranged. The thermocouple 11 is pressure welded to the electrode chip 32B by a spring 5. Temperature of the electrode chip 32B at the time of resistance welding is measured by the thermocouple 11. When a peak temperature of the chip is above a given reference value, it is judged to be a good product, and when the peak temperature is below the reference value, it is judged to be a failured good. The thermocouple 11 may be retreated by a spring when the electrode chip 32B is exchanged (set). Instead of the thermocouple 11, an optical fiber and an infrared ray detector, or a bare thermocouple built in an electrode chip may be used as a temperature sensor.
