<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation membrane module by which a large amount of a liquid permeate can be obtained. SOLUTION: This membrane module 22a consists of a housing 31a to which a to-be-treated liquid feed line for feeding a liquid to be treated that is discharged from a biological reaction vessel, to the module 22a, is connected; at least one separation membrane element 1 receivable in this housing 31a; and a liquid permeate line 34a for allowing a liquid permeate to flow out from the separation membrane element 1. In one embodiment of the separation membrane module 22a, an opening 33a for allowing a component (liquid non- permeate) of the liquid to be treated, which does not permeate through separation membrane of the separation membrane element 1, to overflow the housing 31a, is formed in the housing 31a. In another embodiment of the module 22a, the liquid permeate line 34a is positioned at a level lower than the liquid surface of the liquid to be treated, in the housing 31a.</p> |
