ALKYD RESIN FOR STENCIL EMULSION INK AND THE SAME EMULSION INK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively improve printing stability and storage stability after long period release of water-in-oil type stencil emulsion ink using an alkyd resin. SOLUTION: In this fatty acid-modified alkyd resin obtained by reacting a polybasic acid with a polyhydric alcohol and a fatty acid and/or natural oil and fat, the above fatty acid and/or natural oil and fat comprises >=10 wt.% branched fatty acid. This stencil emulsion ink is produced by including the above alkyd resin containing the above branched fatty acid as an oil-soluble component. When the branched fatty acid is incorporated into the alkyd resin, affinity between the resin and the solvent is increased and printing stability of ink is excellent even when the ink is released on a machine for one month or more longer period. Resisting function to autoxidation is increased and storage (viscosity) stability of ink is improved by steric hindrance of the branched fatty acid.
