PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush base capable of increasing the contact area of brushing piles onto a floor and imparting a good cushioning property. SOLUTION: Rectangular notches 2 are formed at every equal distance in a holder base 1. Both side plates 15 are formed from both ends of the front plate 14 to the rear side and an intermediate plate 19 is formed from the middle part to the rear side to prepair a fitting piece 16. The fitting piece 16 is inserted into the notches 2 of the holder base 1 in a state that long piles are wound round and round on the intermediate plate 19. A floor can be polished by the brush piles 8 when such piles are turned upside down and fitted below the motor-driven polishing machine for a floor to polish the floor.
