PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vitrified grinding wheel capable of maintaining the excellent sharpness and high grinding ratio for a long time, difficult to generate the loss in shape, capable of increasing the dress interval with excellent grinding efficiency. SOLUTION: In this grinding wheel, brown alumina abrasive grains are bound with other abrasive grains using a vitrified binder. Other abrasive grains include at least one kind of white alumina abrasive grains, rose-pink alumina abrasive grains, pulverized alumina abrasive grains, black silicon carbide abrasive grains and green silicon carbide abrasive grains. The ratio of the brown alumina abrasive grains to the total of the brown alumina abrasive grains and other abrasive grains is 3-20 vol.%.
