PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition useful for treatment of a diabetic complication by including an aldose reductase inhibitor, selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor, and pharmaceutically allowable carrier, base or diluent. SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) an aldose reductase inhibitor, prodrug thereof or pharmaceutically allowable salt thereof, (B) a COX-2 inhibitor shown by formula I (R1 is a sulfamyl; R2 is a haloalkyl; R3 is a hydride or the like; and R4 is an aryl or the like), or formula II (R5 is an alkyl or the like; R6 is a cycloalkyl or the like; and R7 is a lower alkyl or the like), prodrug thereof or pharmaceutically allowable salt thereof, and (C) a pharmaceutically allowable carrier, base or diluent. It is preferable that the component A is fidarestat or zopolrestat, and component celecoxib or valdecoxib.
