Disclosed is a method of agonizing the beta 3 receptor in a subject in need thereof. The method comprises administering to the subject between about 1.0 to about 5.0 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day of a compound represented by Structural Formula (I) or (VIII). Preferably, between about 2.0 to about 5.0 milligrams, more preferably 2.0 to about 4.8 milligrams, and even more preferably between about 3.0 to about 4.8 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day of a compound of formula (I) or (VIII) are administered. |
