PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce a product having an excellent appearance by providing a cylindrical extensible/contractible part for extending/contracting in the longitudinal/lateral direction and a nonextensible/noncontractible part knitted in the extensible/contractible part, knitting different knitting tissues by common knitting yarn in the extensible/contractible part and the nonextensible/noncontractible part, and restricting a longitudinal directional elongation quantity small in the nonextensible/noncontractible part. SOLUTION: A supporter 10 is formed by knitting a nonextensible/noncontractible part 12 in a cylindrical extensible/contractible part 11. The extensible/contractible part 11 and the nonextensible/noncontractible 12 are continuously knitted, for example, by common knitting yarn by combining nonextensible/noncontractible main and sub-yarn so that the nonextensible/ noncontractible part 12 can extend/contract only in the lateral direction by restricting a longitudinal directional elongation quantity.
