PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing method to rapidly and surely sterilize a container such as a beverage bottle. SOLUTION: The sterilizing method comprises a process to introduce the mist of a sterilizing agent in a bottle 1, a process to feed hot air in the bottle 1 in which the mist is introduced, and a process to feed a cleaning solution such as an aseptic water in the bottle 1 from which the mist is discharged, and to clean the bottle. The method may further comprise a process to preliminarily heat the bottle 1 before the mist is introduced. A mouth part 1a of the bottle 1 may be separately and preliminarily heated.
