PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic resin composition which holds the original characteristics and simultaneously has excellent heat resistance, by compounding a polymer having lactone ring structures in the molecule and a thermoplastic resin except the polymer as thermoplastic resins. SOLUTION: This thermoplastic resin composition contains (A) a polymer having lactone ring structures in the molecule and (B) a thermoplastic resin (for example, polyethyelene) except the component A. The component A preferably has a glass transition temperature of >=100 deg.C, and is preferably obtained by the alcohol-removing reaction of a copolymer containing the units of a monomer of the formula (R1 and R2 are each H or an organic residue). The rate of the lactone ring structures in the component A is preferably >=10 wt.%. The composition contains the components A and B in a component A/B weight ratio of 10/90 to 60/40, and preferably has a haze of <=5%.
