PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive garbage treating device of simple structure in which garbage is charged into a treating vessel packed with a biological decomposing agent and the vessel is rotated to agitate and mix the garbage and the agent and in which the formation is prevented of a dumping-shaped part difficult to decompose caused by powder drawn into the water of the garbage. SOLUTION: In this method, small acicular protrusions 2b of different sizes are formed in a garbage treating vessel, a screw blade 2 with the tip bent left and right into the shape of a T is turned left and right, thus the garbage and the agent made heavier by water and accumulated at the bottom of the vessel are picked up to the upper part of the vessel and then dropped by gravity, and the whole is uniformly mixed and agitated. Further, the formation of a dumpling-shaped part difficult to decompose during mixing and agitating is prevented or the part is broken into pieces by forming the small protrusions 2b of various sizes on the whole surface of the blade 2.
