PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic filter monitoring system and a hydraulic filter monitoring method capable of suitably coping with various conditions, which is difficult for a conventional system and method to cope with skillfully, and for coping with clogging of the hydraulic filter. SOLUTION: The system and the method is coped with the clogging of the hydraulic filter 50 arranged in a hydraulic circuit to which an hydraulic unit 30 is connected. In such a case, degree of a pressure drop of the hydraulic filter 50 is detected by a differential pressure gauge 58 and a temp. of a working oil is detected by a thermometer 60. A timer 78 is incorporated in a control device 14. When the temp. of the working oil is equal to or above the prescribed temp. and the pressure drop is equal to or above a prescribed pressure, alarm is activated by an alarm buzzer 70 and an alarm lamp 72 and if the state is continued in equal to or longer than a prescribed time, the hydraulic unit 30 is stopped.
