PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive fire extinguisher which is placed in a room without occupying much space and put out and check the spread of a fire automatically or manually with simple operation as needed when the fire breaks out. SOLUTION: A fire-extinguishing agent 2 including an inorganic foaming agent which is inflated at a fixed temperature is enclosed in a package 3 which can be bursted by inflating pressure of the inorganic foaming agent. When a fire breaks out, the package 3 breaks, then the fire-extinguishing agent 2 is scattered and diffused. In the fire-extinguishing agent 2, urea, ammonium chloride, anhydrous sodium carbonate, sodium silicate, ammonium sulfate, annealing alum and fluorine surface active agent are included selectively.
