PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type drying and washing machine having functions to assure a hot air route at the time of a drying stage and to prevent an accident particularly when repetitive drying operation is carried out. SOLUTION: This washing machine has a water tank 2, a rotary drum 5 which is rotatably arranged within the water tank 2, a hot air supplying means 50 for supplying hot air for drying the wash housed in the rotary drum 5, a temperature sensor 55 for detecting the terminal of the hot air and a memory means for storing the history of the drying operation. When a prescribed temperature of the hot air or a prescribed temperature rising rate or the history value of a prescribed drying operation is detected by the temperature sensor 55, shutdown as an abnormal state or abnormality announcement is executed.
