PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily read unread messages in the order of generation, and to display the message on a display so that the message can be easily read. SOLUTION: In a receiver 1 for selective radio call, when it is necessary to read an unread message, a control part 20 displays the oldest message of unread messages stored in a memory 21 on a display 16 by operating a reading requesting means 14c. When it is necessary to read a newer unread message, the control part 20 sequentially displays the new unread messages on the display 16 each time an updating means 14d is operated. Thus, the unread messages can be read in the order of generation. Also, at the time of displaying the message at the display, a punctuation mark is displayed at the punctuation mark display part at the tail of a line while the punctuation mark is present at the head of a line in a conventional receiver for selective radio call. Thus, the message can be displayed so as to be easily read.
