PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display device which can be used in various environments while keeping good color developing performance by constituting the color filter as that the transmitted light from a standard source C is substantially achromatic and the transmittance for visible rays from the standard source C is within a specified range. SOLUTION: The color filter is constituted so that the transmitted light from a standard source C is substantially achromatic and the transmittance for visible rays from the standard source C is 30 to 65%. For example, a liquid crystal panel 20A has a laminar structure consisting of an upper glass substrate 22, an upper electrode layer 24, an insulating layer 26, an upper alignment layer 28, a liquid crystal layer 30, an insulating layer 34, a lower electrode layer 36, a leveling layer 38 to level the upper part of the color filter, a color filter 40, a reflection plate 50 and a lower glass substrate 60. The color filter 40 is designed so that the transmitted light from the standard source C is substantially achromatic. The transmittance for visible rays of the color filter 40 from the standard source C is, for example, 53%. |
