PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an optical pulse train transmitter having a high cyclic optical pulse train generation rate of tera-bit/sec or more, and also re-transmit the optical pulse train as a new optical pulse train remaining as the optical signal by using the transmitter on the way, and stably perform various optical signal processing in high-speed and high-rate optical communication. SOLUTION: This optical pulse train transmitter is provided with an optical circuit comprising plural optical distribution points formed on a substrate, distributed light modulators, optical signal multiplexing points, and optical waveguides connecting them, a means for making the optical signal pulse train incident/emit to this optical circuit, an applying means of external light or an electric field for driving the optical branch points of the above-mentioned optical circuit, and an applying means of external light or an electric field for driving the distributed light modulators of the above- mentioned optical circuit. And, the optical pulse train transmitter further comprises a light source of laser beams, etc., as the optical signal source, a control circuit for receiving an electric information signal and superimposing the information on the distributed light modulators, an optical synchronizing device for receiving the incoming optical signal, and a signal converter for reproducing the received optical signal into an electric signal. |
