PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute a high cyclic optical pulse train of a tera-bit class in a batch to electronic signals in plural routes, and stably perform various optical processing in high-speed and high-rate optical communication. SOLUTION: The optical pulse train distributor comprises an optical signal waveguide to pass a signal optical pulse train, plural optical branch points for distributing specific optical pulses from the optical pulse train, and an another distribution optical waveguide to pass the signal optical pulses distributed from each of these optical branch points. And, the optical branch points have a branch point width of a length of a two-fold or less distance of the product of the propagation velocity of the optical signal pulse in the optical waveguide and the duration of the optical signal pulse, and each optical branch point is arranged in the optical signal waveguide at intervals of a length not longer than a distance of the product of the propagation velocity of the optical signal pulse in the optical waveguide and the time interval of the optical signal pulse train and at the intervals of a longer distance than the branch point width, and in addition, the optical characteristic of all the optical branch points is simultaneously modulated by externally controlled electric field or light, and the optical pulse train is distributed to each nearest distribution optical waveguide. |
