PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform sure and even communications and control with various types of business office equipment or devices by transmitting the coded data to a device on the receiving side and controlling, monitoring or diagnosing other devices according to the received coded data. SOLUTION: A system control process 102 monitors continuously the state of a copying machine 10 and sends the data to a communication process 101 if an abnormal state is detected. The process 101 sends the code data including the type and length of information showing the contents of the data transmitting information and also the value showing the device type of the transmitting side to a control panel 20 via a communication line 12. The panel 20 codes the data received from a user in a communication process 201 and sends the coded data to the machine 10 via the line 12. A remote diagnostic station 30 is connected to the machine 10 and its communication process 301 operates like the processes 101 and 201. |
