摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a non-formed cadmium electrode to improve the high rate discharge performance by fully charging a storage battery, and then further charging the storage battery under a temperature which is higher than the temperature to the full charge and a charging current value smaller than the charging current value to the full charge. SOLUTION: In initial charging step, a storage battery is charged fully so that metal cadmium added to a paste cadmium electrode forms a coagulated network in the active material layer of the paste cadmium electrode, and further charged at a prescribed temperature with a prescribed current value. More specifically, after the storage battery is fully charged, charging is preferably further performed at a temperature ranging from 30 deg.C to 50 deg.C and a current value ranging from 0.01 CmA to 0.05 CmA. After the storage battery is fully charged, it is suitable to perform constant-current charging and a current value ranging from 0.01 CmA to 0.05 CmA up to a charging ratio of 150%.</p>
