摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight without being accompanied by deterioration of charge and discharge characteristics by constituting a pasted negative electrode plate active material after battery jar formation so that the capacity of a specified pore diameter is within a specified range. SOLUTION: A pasted negative electrode plate active material negative is constituted so that the capacity of pore diameters of 1-6 μm is 0.01-0.3 mg/g, and the capacity of pore diameters of 10 μm or more is 0.02-0.15 ml/g. When the moisture content in the pasted active material or the lead sulfate content in a unformed negative electrode plate is increased, the capacity of pore diameters of 1-6 μm decreases while the capacity of the pore diameters of 10 μm or more tends to increase, and the weight of one negative electrode plate weight is reduced. The excessively porous active material is not preferable since the conductivity is lost. The increase in the lead sulfate content or moisture content in the paste is preferable since the trickle current is minimized. It is suitable to set the moisture content in the paste to 10.2-12.0 wt.% and the lead sulfate content in the active material to 12-16 wt.%.
