PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make improvable the image processing accuracy by discriminating and removing part estimated to be the image of wiper blades in a picked-up image, and discriminating only a white line on the road surface to eliminate an influence of wiper operation. SOLUTION: A camera 1 is installed so that its visual field falls in the wiping range of wipers, thereby, even in the case of rainy weather, if the wiper is operated the imaging of a forward spectacle an be performed without problem. It is desirable that the camera 1 is installed in a position near the upper end of a wind shield 4. Thus, the road is imaged from a higher position so as to improve the resolving power of white line detection, and as the speed of a wiper blade for crossing the visual field of the camera is increased, the time of an influence exerted on an image can be shortened. An image processor 2 is formed by a micro-computer or the like, to which an image signal of the camera 1 is input to detect a white line showing a traffic lane on the road surface, and it is determined whether the position of a driver's own car is within a white line or not. When it is out of range or deviated to one side, a warning device 3 is operated. |
