IMAGE INPUT/OUTPUT DEVICE AND STATUS INFORMATION REPORTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize an image input/output device and a status information reporting means which can inform a terminal of the statuses of respective sections without the need to install a dedicated software on the terminal. SOLUTION: A hybrid machine 1 starts up a WWW server where an applet is embedded. When a browser requests an HTTP file, the hybrid machine 1 transfers an HTML file and the applet. The browser executes the applet 603. The applet 603 opens a TCP socket with the hybrid machine 1 and starts communicating. A status information acquisition part of the hybrid machine 1 acquires the statuses of respective sections of the hybrid machine 1 at a request from the applet 603 and the hybrid machine 1 notifies the applet 603 of the status information. The applet 603 displays the statuses of the respective sections.
