PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make accurately detectable the position of the wheel of a vehicle mounted on a wheel alignment adjusting device with high precision. SOLUTION: A jig 304 is fitted to the wheel flange 302A of a wheel 302. A measuring second wire 544 is extracted from a distance measuring instrument 240, and a second lock metal fitting 546 is hooked on the first lock metal fitting 452 of the jig 304. When the measuring second wire 544 is extracted from the distance measuring instrument 240, the shaft of a rotary encoder is rotated by the quantity corresponding to the extracted quantity, and the size can be measured precisely and accurately.
