PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing checking method and an image processing checking device which can extract an accurate edge element even though much pepper and salt noise caused by surface characteristic is included in an image and also an object to be checked has small variable-density difference of a defected image. SOLUTION: This image processing checking device generates a binarized image by a density gradient calculating part 21 calculating the density gradient of each pixel, an average value calculating part 22 calculating the average value of density gradients of each pixel, a standard deviation calculating part 23 calculating the standard deviation of the density gradients of each pixel, a threshold calculating part 24 deciding the threshold T with which an edge where the density of image data changes is discriminated on the basis of the average value and the standard deviation, a binarization processing part 25 which binarizes image data on the basis of the threshold T and extracts an edge element including a defect, and a filtering part 26 which screens the binarized image data with a mesh-shaped filter having a plurality of square lattices in a prescribed size and eliminates noise components included in the edge element. |
