PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance visibility by removing unnecessarily shining rays of light, in the case of a structure using a light emitting diode for lighting a transparent substrate superposed on a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: In this surface-like lighting system, a bar-shaped light guide body 3 provided partly with prism-shaped portions 3a as optical-path converting means is disposed on one end of a transparent substrate 2 and the light from a light emitting diode 4 comes into the transparent substrate 2 via the light guide body 3. The length of the light guide body 3 is made larger than the width of the transparent substrate 2, and an end part of the light guide body 3 on the light emitting diode 4 side is made to stick out beyond the end part of the transparent substrate 2. Causing the end part of the light guide body 3 to stick out beyond the end part of the transparent substrate 2 causes unnecessary shining rays of light to disappear. |
