PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the selecting of a gradation converting table which is to be applied in accordance with the degree of the degradation of luminance of a picture display means. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a gradation conversion table storage part 30 in which three gradation conversion tables having input-output characteristics different with each other are stored, a table selecting means 40 selecting one table from among these three tables, a gradation correcting part 20 applying a gradation conversion processing to a picture signal Din according to the selected table, a picture display means 10 displaying a visible picture to be expressed by a picture signal Dout posterior to the gradation conversion processing and a contrast pattern storage part 50 in which contrast patterns having plural steps whose viewing properties of gradation are respectively changed in accordance with plural steps of the degradation of luminance of the picture display means 10 are stored. |
