PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use an area from the leading edge to the trailing edge of a cut paper type recording medium and to form a high-quality image by holding and carrying the recording medium by electrostatic force while bringing a latent image formed surface into contact with an opposite surface. SOLUTION: An endless dielectric belt 6 functioning as a recording medium holding member is laid over to be wound on a dielectric belt carrying roller 7 and a dielectric belt holding roller 8, and specified tensile force is given to the belt 6 by a tension roller 9. The surface of the belt 6 is uniformly electrified by a belt electrifier 15 functioning as a recording medium holding member electrifying means while the belt 6 is rotated clockwise. Recording paper separated and carried by one sheet is carried on the belt 6 whose surface is uniformly electrified and electrostatically attracted to the belt 6. The recording paper is held with its image formed surface upward in a recording paper holder 34 so that its opposite surface to the image formed surface may come in contact with the belt 6. Then, the width of the belt 6 is made larger than that of the recording paper so that the recording paper may be stably carried. |
