PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and easily search a better receiving situation by quantitatively displaying a data receiving state. SOLUTION: This receiver is provided with an FM character multiplex demodulating part 3, a microcomputer 6, a display control circuit 8 and a displaying part 9. The part 3 separates received data and supplies the separated receive data to the microcomputer 6. The microcomputer 6 discriminates the existence/absence of an error in each data packet by using a CRC code, also counts the number of data packets discriminated as an error in a frame data unit and detects a packet error rate. Then, data receiving state is discriminated, e.g. into four kinds of state on the basis of the obtained packet error rate, and display information corresponding to the discrimination results is generated and supplied to the circuit 8. Thus, the part 9 performs accurate display corresponding to the data receiving state. |
