PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent slippages between sheets to provide a lighting system having a uniform luminance distribution by providing a light source, a transparent light guide plate on which the light from the light source is incident, and an integrated light diffusing and converging module arranged on the light emitting surface of the light guide plate and having the function of the diffusing and converging the emitted light. SOLUTION: This lighting system 2 is formed of a light transmissive light guide plate 21 arranged on the back side of a liquid crystal panel 1 with the light emitting surface opposite thereto, a lamp consisting of a cold cathode-ray tube or fluorescent lamp arranged on one side surface thereof, a reflector 24 provide around the lamp 23 to efficiently guide the light from the lamp 23 to the light guide plate 21, a light diffusing and converging module 22 and a reflecting sheet 28 affixed to the reverse side of the light guide plate 21. The light diffusing and converging module 22 comprises light diffusive sheets which nip lens sheets, and the peripheries of which are fixed together by an adhesive material. The light diffusive sheet and the lens sheets may be fixed by thermcompression bonding. The integrated light diffusing and converging module is used, whereby the slippage between the sheets can be prevented to improve reliability. |
