<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed discriminating device capable of obtaining the stable discrimination result of the tape speed when the speed of a reproducing tape is discriminated, even in the case the tape speed change is such that the change of the number of FGs in one frame is very small. SOLUTION: The device consists of the capstan 11 for making to run the tape being recorded with the prescribed format, an FG counter 12 for integrating the number of FGs of this capstan, a CTL counter 13 for counting reproduction control signals of the N frames from the tape to be reproduced, and a tape speed discriminating part 18 for discriminating the tape speed at the time of recording by comparing the integrated value of the number of FGs integrated with the FG counter and theoretical data being preset, based on the counted value consisting of the reproduction control signals of the N frames of this CTL counter.</p> |
